Altaf Hussain Hali: A literacy Beacon in Urdu prose

The Urdu Department held a seminar titled Altaf Hussain Hali Essay Writing Skills:The Influence of Zaban-e-Goya.The event highlighted Hali legacy as a reformist writer whose simple,realistic prose bridged classical literature and social advocacy. Speakers praised his idiomatic and heartfelt language for driving social change,while students noted his style reflection of the language of the people.The Chairperson concluded that Hali mastery of flow and purity continues to guide modern Urdu prose.

A discussion on Premchand's story 'Poos ki Raat'

The Urdu Department organized a discussion on "Premchand's story 'Poos ki Raat'" on 15-11-2025. Students from all sem of the BA program participated in the discussion with great interest and enthusiasm. Such discussions foster students' interest in literary studies and help them understand the meaning and aesthetics of Urdu stories. It was moderated by Dr. Afshan Nigar Ajmal, Assistant Professor, Head of the Urdu Department.
