Heritage Walk organised by B.D. College, Patna, concluded on 06 December 2025

On December 6, 2025, a heritage walk was successfully organized with the joint support of the History Department and the National Service Scheme (NSS) unit of B.D. College, Patna. The program was graced by the presence of the college's Principal, Prof. (Dr.) Ratna Amrit, who served as the event's chief patron. Addressing the students, she shared her views on Patna's administrative and cultural heritage, historical consciousness, cultural sensitivity, and heritage conservation.

Internship programme (2025)

There were PPT and report presentations from 71 students whose internship program concluded at the Bihar Museum. Divided into 12 groups, they presented on a variety of informative and lively topics, such as Jainism and Buddhism in Bihar, diaspora studies related to Bihar, the Patna Kalam, and more. The programs were attended by a large number of students, along with departmental faculty. They proved to be extremely inspiring and encouraging for all present.

Lecture on the life and contributions of Smt. Indira Gandhi on her birth anniversary (2025)

The History Department of B.D. College celebrated the birth anniversary of Mrs. Indira Gandhi on 19/11/2025 at 12 noon through lectures on the life and contributions of the department's faculty. The program concluded with the song "Ekla Chalo Re..." by Kaviguru Rabindranath Tagore, which was Indira Gandhi's favorite song.

Internship programme (2025)

The ten-day internship program for students of the History Department, BD College, was successfully completed at the Bihar Museum, Patna. During this program, the students worked in various sections of the museum, gaining in-depth knowledge of the practical aspects of history, heritage, and its preservation. This internship proved to be a useful experience for the students, giving them an opportunity to understand the study of history in practical terms.

On the occasion of the birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, Lal Bahadur Shastri and Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a cultural programme was organised by the History Dept in which the students presented various aspects of the personality and works.

Bhagat Singh Symbol of Youth consciousness and National Unity

The Department of History organized a seminar in the college auditorium on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the brave revolutionary Bhagat Singh (September 28, 1907) his contribution in the India's freedom straggle.
