Valedictory Session of PG Sociology Students Marks Culmination of Field Outreach, Surveys and Community Awareness Initiatives in Patna with Expert Guidance Hub
On 25 May 2026, the valedictory session of PG Semester IV students of the Department of Sociology, B.D. College, Patna, was organised at Oplus Cowork, Rupaspur by The Climate Agenda in collaboration with the department. The programme marked the culmination of field visits, surveys and community outreach activities. Students shared experiences, received expert guidance on career opportunities, and were awarded certificates for submitting field reports.

Department of Sociology Organised PG Dissertation Pre-Submission Seminar on Research, Field Study and Dissertation Writing Guidance
On 9 May 2026, the Department of Sociology organised a тАЬPost Graduate Dissertation Pre-Submission SeminarтАЭ to encourage PG students towards research and dissertation writing. Resource Person Prof. Prabhat Kumar Singh, Ex-H.O.D., PG Dept. of Sociology, Ranchi University, guided students on research in the new education system. Students of MA Session 2024-26 presented field-based dissertation work. The seminar was chaired by Dr. Y. Gunjan Ramraj and vote of thanks by Dr. N.N. Thakur.

A poster exhibition was organised on 'Swachh Bharat Abhiyan'
The Sociology Department organized a poster exhibition on the "Clean India Campaign" on 29-11-2025 to promote environmental awareness and responsibility among youth. At the event, the college principal and other faculty members encouraged students to develop their ideas and creative skills.

Group Discussion on 'Gender Equality'
As a part of Discipline Specific Elective, 'Gender Sensitisation', Group Discussion was organised for PG students of Sociology on the topic of 'Gender Equality' to create awareness and sensitivity with regard to issues of women and multiple sexualities.
